Explanation of This Year’s Theme

Explanation of Missions Fest Seattle theme for 2023

Missions Fest Seattle presents our 2023 conference with the theme, “Let’s Complete the Task: Where Do I Fit?” If we project out 10 years from now, we have the year 2033 which marks the 2000th anniversary of when Jesus gave us the Great Commission as described in Matthew 28:19-20. Missions Fest and other organizations are making plans to work towards completing Jesus’ directive by then. This is not to say that the task will or can be accomplished by then, but often we make greater progress when we have a goal, a plan, and a purpose to motivate us, and even more so when we pray. Reflect on this statement:

“People overestimate what they can do in one year, underestimate what they can do in ten years, and drastically underestimate what God can do when His people pray.”

Our theme is “Let’s Complete the Task – Where Do I Fit?“. We will see what has been done, what still needs to be done before Jesus’ return, and keys to where we and our church may fit. We will look at reasons why the task has not been completed and what needs to change to enable the completion of the task. Then, beginning the week of Missions Fest, we will have a new item on our website with helps/ideas for individuals and churches to use in looking at the year ahead and planning/prayer for the next ten years. Come and join us on November 3-4 at Bellevue Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, WA.
